Cheap Monday @ Shanghai Fashion Week

Cheap Monday, the Swedish clothing label best known for its jeans, held its first fashion show outside of Scandinavia on Saturday the 20th of October at the Shanghai Fashion Week. The show featured the forthcoming Spring / Summer 2013 collection that was previously showcased back in August at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Stockholm.

The show itself represents the growing popularity of Cheap Monday across the globe with its reputation for well made clothes at competitive prices. Its rise has gained further momentum in the past four years as H&M became the brand’s majority shareholder.

The new collection is defined as being category-less. As people feel the need to place things in certain boxes, Cheap Monday states that “for the SS-13 collection, we have focused on anomalies such as the androgynous or genderless, treating these subjects in relation to the frames of duality… The alien, artificial, ambiguous, strong, weird and genderless is central for the collection.”

Below are some of our favourites from the menswear collection (and yes, we do understand the irony of showing just the men).
