Jaguar to Launch XFR-S Supersaloon
Jaguar recently revealed the XFR-S at the L.A. Auto Show. The self-styled “super saloon” is the fastest and most powerful saloon car ever with the five-litre supercharged V8 saloon packing a mighty 550 horsepower, capable of reaching 186 miles per hour. The Jaguar XFR-S borrows many design elements from the XKR-S to distinguish it from the standard XFR, with an aerodynamic carbon fibre exterior and a deep front bumper that features a distinctive front grille.
Jaguar are limiting the choice of colours in order to best fit with the design of the car. French Racing Blue, Ultimate Black, Stratus Gray, Polaris White and Italian Racing Red are the available options. All will be combined with a gloss-black trim around the grille, front and rear screens, windows and across the boot.
Another highlight of the design will be the wheel trims. The XFR-S will be offered with lightweight Varuna forged alloy wheels featuring a ceramic polish which is applied to the outer surfaces.
The interior includes a selection of carbon leather on the seat bolsters and armrests, and a dark mesh aluminum fascia. An exclusive feature for the R-S model is the Warm Charcoal leather trim. An R-S logo has been embossed on the seats and it can be finished with a choice of contrast colour micro-piping and stitching in red, blue or ivory.
Music lovers will also be pleased to hear that the XFR-S will also be offered with a standard 825-watt, eighteen-speaker surround-sound system from British audio experts Meridian.
The XFR-S certainly looks the part with its with distinctive British style, however prospective buyers may be hard pressed getting their hands on one with only one-hundred units allocated to the American market.
The Jaguar XFR-S will start from £79,995 and go on sale in May 2013.
